Two common requirements of the universal data protection laws are written policies and employee training / acknowledgement. That is to say, if a policy or procedure in not in written form, it essentially does not exist, in the eyes of the federal regulators. (Office for civil rights & States attorney general)

 

It follows then, that employee training and a signed acknowledgment supports diligent business practice.
